Dear Fellow Jaguars and Supporters of Southern University A&M College
I am honored to serve as your second-term President of the Southern University Alumni Federation Home Chapter. I am thankful for the alumni leaders across the Jaguar Nation, university faculty, administrators, and staff employees for their support and advice, as I do my part to bring growth and prosperity to our chapter.
Last fiscal year, my objective was to increase alumni membership in the Home Chapter, have a meaningful presence on “The Yard,” as well as, set a positive atmosphere with the University and the National Alumni Federation. Without sounding boastful, we met and exceeded these objectives. With the help of the Executive Council and a host of dedicated chapter members, we excelled and continued to excel in numerous areas because of our time, talents and financial gifts that we share with Southern University. To learn of the specifics regarding the Home Chapter contributions to the University and Baton Rouge community for the fiscal years 2014-2015 and 2015-2016, please read our accomplishment book in its entirety on our website, under the newsletter tab. I welcome new ideas that will take the Home Chapter to greater levels. We appreciate your assistance, financially or as a volunteer.
Nevertheless, I continue to be humbled while serving as your second-term Home Chapter president. Your belief, trust, and faith to allow me to lead and represent this outstanding chapter continue to be unimaginable, and I love every minute of it. All I can say is “watch out FY 2016-2017, the Home Chapter is just getting started.”
Sincerely loving Southern University and A&M College,
Cortny R Jarrell, M.P.A.
